About this Gateway
The Data Sharing Toolkit is a BETA website created as part of a work aims to enable better data-driven decisions towards innovation in Foundation Decision Agriculture investments and the national systems in which the investments operate.

The Data Sharing Toolkit was designed for foundation program officers to improve how good practices for FAIR data is implemented into design of grants. The toolkit includes seven modules, with accompanying eLearning cheat sheets, guides, and checklists. All modules help demystify how to use, collect and share FAIR data for you and for the people in agriculture you wish to empower.

If you would like to access the e-Learning, please create a free account through the CABI Academy.

Gateway Areas
This module will help you to make the grant process smoother and the results more impactful by detailing what is needed for integrating 'FAIR and safeguarded' data within an investment.
This module will help you to ensure that investments are well scoped with respect to the enabling environment.
This module will help you to understand barriers and techniques to address reusing data from existing third party sources.
This module will help you to understand personal data and techniques that can be applied to ensure investments protect the rights of individuals while maximising the utility of data.
This module will help you to understand and use data sharing agreements and data licences that maximize findability, reusability and safeguarding of data.
This module will help you to understand the building blocks of risk, how to analyse them and take steps to minimise harmful impacts.
This module will help you to identify and propose opportunities to make investment data sustainable, by ensuring that the investment includes clear plans for making sure the data is still stored, well maintained, and access or licensing permissions are given to the relevant people to use the data even after the grant is complete.
This area is for documents that were created as part of the Enabling Data Access project, but are not part of the toolkit.
This area contains documents created as part of the SIS Review project, some of which support specific activities in the framework for sustainable national soil information systems.
