Understanding the Production Process
Author Guidelines - The Production Process
Once your article has undergone prepublication checks and has been approved for publication, it will be passed onto the production team for typesetting. You will receive an email notification when your proof is ready for review.
When this notification arrives, please read the instructions carefully for information on how to submit your corrections.
What to look for when checking proofs
When checking proofs, there will be some queries from the editor or the typesetter. You should make sure that you respond to all these queries when submitting your corrections. Please confirm the following details are correct when checking your proof:
- All author names are spelled correctly
- Authors are listed in the correct order
- Affiliations for all authors are accurate
- The information in the Copyright section is correct
- All figures and figure legends are correct
- All external files, including data files are correct
- All links within the article are working, and correct
If you are using Adobe to correct your proofs, please read the detailed information on
how to correct proofs with Adobe.
Authors are asked to return their corrections within one week of receiving the proof. If you are unable to meet this deadline, if you encounter any problems, or if you have further questions, please e-mail the production team and reference the article ID in all correspondence. In the event we don’t receive a response we will consider closing the article file.
It is your responsibility to check the proofs. We can’t be held responsible for errors that remain in the published version. We will publish the article after you have sent us your corrections. If the production team has any queries regarding the proof corrections, they will reach out to you.
